With a record number of couples planning to say, “I do” this year, you might wonder how to make your own wedding feel unique. There are countless ways of adding details but staying true to your style and adding elements that reflect that is essential. From the color palette to textures, florals to stationery, many details make up a wedding where you can add your own personal touch. Knowing when and where to add personalized details can pose a considerable challenge, but that’s where expert advice from Pearl Events Austin comes in! Becky Navarro with Pearl Events Austin teaches us how to personalize the prettiest of details. She’s taking us through the planning process with one of her own brides and how they came up with the most stunning details while adding personalized touches to create a unique and beautiful affair.
Describe this wedding scene!
This particular wedding is all about color pallete perfection. We worked hard to design our bride, Jenny’s wedding, with precise colors and textures in mind, and it worked out beautifully!
What are some ways couples can personalize their wedding design?
In Jenny’s case, we focused the most on the design and feel of her wedding. She loved florals and tabletop, so we spent a good amount of budget on those things. To make it all work, we saved on using a DJ vs. a band and didn’t rent a dance floor. However, inside I did a custom gobo to define the space of the dancing area. These tricks help us stay on budget and keep the wedding personalized.
What stationery elements do you suggest couples use as “branding” in their wedding design?
We used lots of wax seals for Jenny’s wedding as one of her branding elements! Such a little piece of stationery glam that goes a long way. You can find it on her invites, menu cards, and a few other fun places throughout the night.
What do you suggest the couple reflects on to use as inspiration for their wedding?
Your job! Jenny is in real estate, so she looks at beautiful houses all day and knows exactly what color combo spoke to her!
What detail is often overlooked that can add a significant wow factor to the event?
Texture. The linen texture differed from the napkin texture, which differed from the glasses texture. Everything had subtle texture differences, but I honestly don’t think this would have been nearly as gorgeous if we used poly linen with a poly napkin and a plain water goblet. Boring!
