With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we’re thrilled to announce the finalists of Wed Society Austin’s annual Looks of Love contest! There’s truly nothing more heartwarming than reading a love story and seeing beautiful photos that capture the special bond between two people. Over the past two weeks, our team has read and admired the many amazing love stories shared to us and have selected the top 8 couples to enter our Instagram voting competition kicking off on Tuesday, February 11th! Keep on reading to get a jumpstart on reading the incredible love stories of these 8 couples and tune in each day to @wedsociety.austin to vote for your favorite couples and love story. The winner will be announced on Friday, February 14th and will receive a one-night stay at the Colton House Hotel with a romance package upgrade plus a $250 gift card to the restaurant of your choice.
From Ole Miss to Texas Bliss: Avery + Bri Were Meant to Be
Avery and Bri met at Ole Miss during their second year when her sorority sister moved in next door. Bonding over their Texas roots, they often found themselves chatting on the back porch. Avery jokes that he had to go to Mississippi to find his Texas girl!
Though they met in college, they unknowingly spent summers on Lake LBJ near Austin—proof that destiny was at work. That shared connection made the lake the perfect choice for their engagement portraits, a place that brings them both peace and joy.
Now back in Texas, they are counting down to their Fall 2025 wedding and the next chapter of their love story!
After a rejection from her dream school, Pawie decided to attend UTSA for a year before transferring. What she didn’t expect was that this detour would lead her to Daniel. It was in the UTSA dining hall where she first saw him—quiet, with gentle eyes, a soft smile, and the rosiest cheeks. She nicknamed him “Rosy Cheeks” as she quietly crushed on him from afar for three months.
Encouraged by her friends, Pawie finally decided to give him her number on a napkin. She walked up to him as he finished dinner, handed him the napkin, and quickly ran away before he could even look up.
A week later, Pawie received a text: “Hi, this is Daniel, the guy you gave your number to on a napkin.” Daniel. The reason she ended up at UTSA in the first place.
A Journey of Love and Strength: Camrynne and Cabot’s Story
Camrynne, from California, and Cabot, from Texas, met in 2017 on a clay target shooting team in Arizona. They became best friends before realizing they had feelings for each other. After dating in 2019, graduating in 2022, and moving to San Antonio for Cabot’s law school, life took a turn.
In February 2023, Cabot surprised Camrynne with a proposal during mini-golf. Excited for their wedding plans, they didn’t expect what came next. After a fall in the spring, Camrynne was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer. Cabot paused law school to take care of her during a year of treatments and surgeries.
In May 2024, Camrynne finished her treatment on her 26th birthday. Now, they’re rebuilding their lives—Camrynne is back at work, Cabot is reapplying to law school, and they have a new dog. Their dream wedding is set for May 3rd, 2025. Through everything, they’ve lived their vows and are ready for forever together.
Sophia & John: A Love Story That Started With a DM
Sophia and John met five years ago on their church’s worship team. At the time, Sophia was in a relationship, so they didn’t get close. Fast forward to July 2023, after Sophia’s breakup, she jokingly messaged John after finding his profile on Hinge. What started as playful banter turned into daily chats, and soon, they were inseparable.
Their first “not-a-date” was before Sophia’s birthday when John took her on his motorcycle to dinner. Despite feeling the spark, she still insisted they were just friends. But it wasn’t long before they both knew it was more.
Four months into dating, John secretly planned a proposal with Sophia’s best friend. During a girls’ trip to Laguna Beach, John surprised her with the perfect proposal. Now, they’re excitedly counting down the days until their wedding in July 2025!
Amy & McClane: From Summer Sparks to Forever Paws
Amy and McClane’s story began in the summer of 2017, when their older sisters, who were already friends, brought them together. This year marks 8 years of their journey together, and they’re eagerly anticipating saying “I do” on March 7th, 2025. Their adventure started in Houston, continued through college at College Station and Texas State, and for the past 5 years, they’ve made San Marcos their home.
Along the way, Amy and McClane have built a family with three energetic and lovable dogs, who hold a special place in their hearts. In May, McClane’s hero moment expanded their family further when he rescued a kitten, bringing their furbaby total to four! Through every high and low, Amy knows without a doubt that McClane is her forever person, and she’s beyond excited to become his wife!
Middle School Magic: Eliana & Alyas’ Journey to Forever
Eliana and Alyas’ love story began back in middle school in 2018 when Alyas transferred to Eliana’s school. The first time Eliana laid eyes on him, she was so taken aback that she literally fell out of her chair! Later that day, fate brought them together again when Alyas sat next to her in science class. They quickly became friends, and their connection only grew stronger over time.
A few months later, Eliana and Alyas started dating, and over the six years that followed, their bond deepened, proving that they were meant to be. In July 2024, Alyas proposed to Eliana at Zion National Park in Utah. Now, they’re looking forward to their wedding this August at Villa Antonia in Austin. Their journey together has been unforgettable, and they can’t wait to start the next chapter as husband and wife!
From Childhood Friends to Forever: Karsen & Cole’s Journey
Karsen and Cole’s story began in childhood, growing up in the same neighborhood and crossing paths countless times. It wasn’t until 5th grade, during cotillion practice, that Karsen had her first crush on Cole. They reconnected in high school and spent more time together, eventually dating before senior year. At first, Karsen was hesitant, but after a special day spent together at Barton Springs Pool, she realized her feelings for him had never really gone away.
Their relationship grew stronger through college, and after seven years together, Cole proposed on May 4th, 2024. With their two Australian Shepherds by their side, Karsen and Cole are eagerly looking forward to their wedding in May 2025, excited to continue their journey together.
From Football Games to Forever: Kelsi and Ryan’s Story
Kelsi and Ryan’s journey began in 2018 when Ryan’s friend, Jordan, showed him a picture of Kelsi and Ryan instantly said, “I would marry that girl!” Later that year, their paths crossed at a football game, and after a brief interaction, Ryan turned to his brother and said, “I’m in trouble.” The two quickly hit it off, exchanging numbers and talking every day since.
Six years later, after countless adventures and raising their pup, Maci, Ryan proposed to Kelsi on December 16th, 2023. The couple is now excitedly counting down to their wedding day on April 11th, 2025, ready to celebrate the next chapter of their love story with family and friends.
