Moody Rustic Austin Wedding at Hotel Saint Cecilia | Blair + Brian

SWEET BEGINNINGS: Blair and Brian met through mutual friends in 1998 and soon after started “going out.” When they started their freshman year of high school, the two went their separate ways. It wasn’t until December 2011 at a Westlake High School Christmas Party that Blair and Brian bumped into each other and spent the evening catching up! The two started officially dating in May 2013.

PERFECT PROPOSAL: With a bottle of champagne waiting, Brian proposed to Blair in the courtyard of her favorite restaurant, Justine’s, before they sat down to dinner. Blair was so excited that all she remembers is exclaiming, “YES!”

THE SETTING: Blair loved the eccentric style of Hotel Saint Cecilia and Hotel Ella. She especially enjoyed that although it was updated to be more modern, the older buildings still felt timeless and original. Complete with black-and-white-striped awnings, large trees, a fire pit and straw king’s chairs, Blair felt the style and feel of the hotel was unmatched. From the moment she walked in, she knew it was the venue for her.

HUES SHE USED: Blair wanted a moody, glam, ranch-styled wedding so she chose black and white, emerald green, gold, cowhide, deer antlers, Lucite and sheer lings to be the main design features of the day. She wanted every detail from the invitations to the place settings and décor to complement each other.

BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS: Blair’s modern clutch bouquet was made to incorporate a certain touch of wild elegance to the ceremony. It had a base of various types of foliage, lush peonies in varying shades of deep burgundy and fuchsia served as the highlight of the bouquet, while being accented by garden roses, ranunculus, anemones, and other seasonal flowers in the same colors, as well as soft shades of pale pink and neutrals. Textural elements such as privet berries and raspberry branches were used strategically throughout to give the bouquet plenty of depth and movement. The handle was wrapped in a black silk, floor-length ribbon.
