Tropical Flair Wedding Walkthrough with Olive & Belle Events

Inspired by the old world, Tuscan resort setting on the shores of Lake LBJ, Paula and David envisioned a romantic, al fresco celebration with a splash of tropical flair. They wanted the event to feel like a destination retreat surrounded by family and friends. Most importantly, they wanted the wedding to showcase their personalities and tell their story as a couple. Austin wedding planner Sydney Campbell from Olive & Belle Events understood exactly what they envisioned and helped them concept and produce a truly beautiful wedding. Read on to get to know this exceptional local planner and how she designed their day in today’s Wedding Walkthrough!

From the planner: “The bride and groom’s attire set the tone as striking black-and-white with neutral tables and linens to blend with the venue as a canvas for the focal-point floral arrangements. Pops of red made their guest appearances in places like the vintage corvette, mother of the bride gown and the bride’s painted fingernails.”

“Paula decided on a formal black-and-white color palette, with softer, romantic neutrals, and intentional pops of pink, green and red for a little tropical flair.”

“Sometimes the best themes are ones that are not at all a ‘theme,’ but instead a series of personal touches to create a one-of-a-kind wedding. The couple wasn’t concerned about every selection being on-theme, but instead wanted it all to intentionally reflect their preferences and style and fit in their overall color palette. ”

“Personal touches are what set a wedding apart from a been-there-done-that to a one-of-a-kind wedding – just like it should be for any couple. The details at Paula and David’s wedding, ranging from the flowers, food, drink, signage and lighting, were selected intentionally to give the event personality while not necessarily trying to fit a theme or Pinterest picture.”

“A play on the royal wedding tradition, Paula honored the two most important men in her life by arriving to the ceremony with her dad in his red 1962 vintage Corvette and departing in the same car with her new husband.”

From the bride: “We knew we wanted something unique. We have a modern yet traditional style, and we loved the contrast of mixing modern, crisp elements with the loose, outdoor Hill Country feel of our venue. We also wanted a ‘destination’ vibe, where we could truly celebrate with our friends and families all weekend.”
