Seaside Sophisticate Soiree with Kumquat and Striped Details

If searching for some ivy league wedding inspiration, we absolutely have you covered. This seaside sophisticate soiree planned and styled by Lauren Field Design combines some of the classiest elements and al fresco dining on the well-manicured lawn of Horseshoe Bay Resort for all the laid back luxe vibes. Sophie Epton Photography expertly captures all the details that amplify a classic East Coast design – citrus elements, herbal craft cocktails and a modern romantic bridal style. Drink Slingers are pros of mixology, creating a refreshing-looking Kumquat and Thyme Spritz made with vodka, kumquat, thyme, honey and ginger beer for this upscale affair! If that doesn’t sound like your speed, reach for their Cucumber Basil Lime Gimlet or a delicious Rosemary Paloma instead. Elegant ivory floral design by Remi + Gold blends with fun, spriggy citrus accents to add a fresh feel to the outdoor wedding scenes while understated timeless and chic design blends these centerpieces in seamlessly with the tablescapes they belong to. Cane-back King Louis chairs, textured linens, and stately place settings from Premiere Events all prepare for an exquisite experience ahead. A simplistic cake design by 2Tarts Bakery accented in fresh florals is draped in emerald fondant that looks almost too good to eat – of course, we are having a slice anyway! The prettiest paperie and custom calligraphy provided by Grey Meets Gold brought sunshine to this shoot, and these suites look so chic in shades of cheery kumquat accented with preppy stripes and pops of kelly green. This bride stuns with a warm, classic bridal eye and natural coral lip created by Think Brink Beauty as well as classic curls with a pearl-studded headband. Her off-the-shoulder Alena Leena Bridal “Armeria” gown from Serendipity Bridal featured a delicate crinoline bustier and corset finished with a modern geometric cut-out décolleté. We adore her finished look, adorned with opulent jewelry from Nicole Mera like the asscher-cut diamond necklace on DBY chain, the 2.00ct radiant fancy yellow diamond ring or the petite shared prong band to name a few. Read on for notes from the planners as well as the calligrapher about the vision behind this seaside sophisticate style and design as well as the beautiful paper goods that made it so personal. Cheers!

From the planners, Lauren & Elaine of Lauren Field Design: “A wedding editorial set amongst the European nostalgia of Horseshoe Bay Resort, inspired by the crisp air of spring and the classic glamour of dining al fresco. The palette is influenced by the well-preserved and lush landscape reminiscent of coastal summers. Tones of green, shades of orange, ochre and fawn are surrounded by striking views of the ever-changing horizon.  As stylists, we enjoy sourcing artisanal items from all around the world. Natural textures are layered alongside a fresh take on tailored patterns to create a chic ambiance full of laid-back luxe.”

From the calligrapher, Christine of Grey Meets Gold: “I wanted to design an invitation suite and paper goods that were focused on the modern minimalist couple. I kept everything soft and subtle with a heavy-weight cardstock and plush letterpress in a beautiful subtle green color for the invitation card, paired with a fun preppy green striped envelope liner. I knew citrus was a huge focus but still wanted to keep it classic. So I paired a beautiful watercolor citrus print on vellum and affixed it to the wedding invitation as a fun overlay. The response card also pulls together the fun citrus theme with a kumquat-colored cardstock envelope and the cutest dainty kumquat design on the response card itself! The menu I decided to go bold but with a modern feel. The green cardstock paper and white printing with a tiny kumquat design kept the place setting fresh and modern! To tie everything together, I kept with the vellum theme for the escort cards and printed the same kumquat design on cardstock and fixed everything together with a fun grommet! I added a touch of flair with a kumquat orange calligraphy for the names!”
