This corona couple was married in their front yard on the one-year anniversary of purchasing their dream home, and it looks like a rustic wedding dream! Erin and John, like many other corona couples, had to make the tough decision to have a completely virtual wedding and ceremony, meaning no close family or friends could be present. Through all of the craziness that would have accompanied a normal wedding day, technical difficulties, and trying to stay safe because of COVID-19, Erin and John’s wedding seemed to be exactly what their 90 virtual guests needed, as it was one of the most fun events to happen since quarantine. As Erin said, “In the end, we had the intimate, magical, memorable wedding we always wanted,” proving that love still lives on in these times!
“Life is messy and chaotic even in the best of circumstances; but together, John and I can weather any storm and this was no different.”
All of the bright and whimsical florals from Bouquets of Austin brought in a happy and cheerful vibe, adding in pops of color to contrast their rustic outdoor setting perfectly! Eye-catching bold yellow sunflowers accompanied by eclectic florals in shades of orange, yellow, blue and purple adorned everything imaginable, from Erin’s hair to their cake to the arbor where their virtual ceremony was held. Whim Hospitality helped keep the rustic and whimsical feel throughout this scene with their lovely decor. We know there are going to be many sunny days ahead for this couple (scroll to read their wedding day story), as their love is as bright as all the details of their corona wedding day. Cheers to Mr. and Mrs. Zanki!

From the bride: “John and I were married in our front yard on the one-year anniversary of purchasing our dream home. The people who raised us, supported us and taught us how to love were hundreds, even thousands of miles away and working through their own personal trauma of living in a world that was suddenly so foreign. Ultimately, we came to realize that those people are ALWAYS with us, just as we are with them. Life is messy and chaotic even in the best of circumstances; but together, John and I can weather any storm and this was no different. We resolved to celebrate our love and be recognized as a family in our own right, so we opted to have a virtual wedding as we combined pre-recorded videos with a YouTube livestream ceremony and a Zoom reception. The original plan was out the window and the new plan included my brother’s pre-recorded officiant speech in Chicago, my godson pretending to walk down an aisle as our ring bearer in California, my nephew throwing flower petals, our parents giving us their blessings, family and friends sending us love, John and I’s first dance and even my favorite local celebrity, meteorologist Zach Shields of Good Day Austin, sent a video wishing us sunny days ahead.”
