We’re pretty obsessed with the juxtaposition of the concrete details in this styled shoot mixed with soft, organic florals and the flowy, boho vibes, right down to the dress. “We really wanted to play around with mixing hard and soft for this shoot. We went for a very monochromatic look in everything except the flowers. We actually wanted the table to look almost like a black and white photograph, with the florals serving as the one pop of color. I’m a big fan of not restricting an event to a set number of colors, but rather imagining an entire palette, and exploring the depth in that palette and exploring different textures too.”
This shoot is a perfect example of mixing classic elements with more trendy pieces for an eye-catching yet still timeless aesthetic. “I think we’d describe ourselves as classic with a contemporary twist. We love fashion and interior design and enjoy watching the trends that walk down the runway or are featured in the pages of interior design magazines work their way into the wedding world. That being said, there are very few couples who want to look back on their wedding photos 10, 20 or even 50 years down the road and think of them as being too ‘trendy.’ We put a lot of pride in creating contemporary and current designs that remain timeless. A little bit of ‘trend’ goes a long way!”

“This bride actually studied art history in college. She wanted the centerpieces on their tables to resemble a still life painting and we found that so inspirational! The colors, shapes and textures used were incredibly unique and made for an incredibly personalized event.”
One way to make sure your wedding can take on the vibe you’re really going for? “Choose colors and shades that live well together and allow for more freedom to customize,” the Trademark team recommends.
Another gem of advice: “Aside from hiring a planner, we always recommend that after you come up with your entire event budget, that you sit down and list your top priorities. Do you want the room to look incredible? Do you want your guests to have the best meal of their lives? Do you really just want to make sure everyone spends the maximum amount of time on the dance floor as possible? Whatever you want the biggest takeaway to be, let that guide and shape your event. Communicate your priority list to your planner, and they will be able to guide you towards the best team of vendors to turn your dream into a reality.”
We couldn’t agree more with Carrie and Amanda’s advice, and we love their perspective! To learn more about this duo or to inquire about their packages, check out Trademark Weddings’ Brides of Austin wedding planner profile! Cheers!
