Our very own Brides of Austin production executive, Dana, is planning her big day, and we couldn’t be more excited! In her recent sun-kissed picnic engagement session, Dana and fiancé Daniel’s love shines as brightly as the sun-kissed weather in every stunning photograph captured by Feather & Twine, and we can’t get enough! Austin vendors Remi and Gold and Averi with an Eye brought their styled session to life with brilliant fall florals and adorable calligraphy details, and Jessica Roop Beauty & Boudoir styled Dana’s hair and makeup to match her chic-meets-boho style. We love how they hinted to their first date by including coffee in their picnic engagement shots! Read on to hear their darling story!

Dana and Daniel’s modern romance started when they connected through the dating app Hinge and blossomed instantly over coffee and s’mores. They had an instant connection that never faded.

Daniel wanted to surprise Dana with the perfect proposal and had their best friends invite them on a double date to a couples’ painting class – something Dana never imagined they’d do. Dana and Daniel each had their own canvas, and when the two were put together side-by-side, it created a full painting. As the class was about to conclude, Daniel drew a girl silhouette on Dana’s side of the painting and a man silhouette bent on one knee on his. He then proceeded to kneel himself and ask Dana to marry him! She, of course, said yes! Following the class and his seriously sweet surprise, they headed off to grab a bite and celebrate. Little did Dana know, Daniel had her entire family and friends waiting next door – many of whom had traveled from Houston and California for less than 24 hours! Upon arrival, their family and friends rushed to the door in full excitement saying, “Congratulations!” Dana says, “To see all their smiling faces in one room was truly overwhelming, I was filled with gratitude and every emotion! Having them all present sharing the news and excitement in person was so special; it’s hard to put into words and truly one of the greatest moments of my life!”

Dana and Dan’s March wedding will also include a gorgeous lake view, romantic candlelight and shades of blue and mauve—all of which are also reflected in their engagement session. In addition to thoughtful touches of handwritten vows at the ceremony, Dana is excited to dance the night away with a live band, celebrating their love with all the couple’s favorite people in one place.
