SWEET BEGINNINGS: Sarah and Michael met through their church’s youth group when the two were in high school. Michael’s parents were Sarah’s Sunday school teachers growing up, so they have a pretty long history.
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Michael took Sarah to an early dinner at a local favorite, Salty Sow. They grabbed a quick cup of coffee after dinner and drove out to Wimberley. He took her to Mount Baldy in Wimberley, and they climbed to the top. Michael had always told Sarah that he wouldn’t tell her that he loved her until he had a ring to back up the weight of those words. So they sat on a blanket, and he told her how much he loved her. He quickly pulled her to her feet, knelt down on one knee, and asked Sarah to marry him. She, of course, said yes. Her sister-in-law was hiding in the bushes taking photos. Michael then took Sarah back to her parents’ house where he had invited all of their closest friends and family to celebrate.
THE SETTING: Sarah wanted people to feel welcomed and comfortable. She wanted it to feel like a picnic, where her guests ate tacos and danced under twinkle lights. She imagined a day of warm colors and chose cream, pale pinks, dusty blues and champagnes to complete her vision.
GET HER LOOK: The bride wore an A-line gown from Blush Bridal Lounge that was fitted though the waist and flared at the hips. The train was a mix of tulle and lace. Sarah felt like a princess. Her veil was tulle with lace and beading around the edges.
SAVORY SWEETS: Sweet Treets Bakery created a three-tier cake for Sarah and Michael with an Italian cream layer, lemon cake with raspberry filling, and a white cake layer with champagne soaked strawberries and buttercream icing. Michael’s groom’s cake was chocolate with peanut butter icing and peanut butter cups crushed on the top.
