Austin Wedding at Barr Mansion Captured by Feather & Twine | Caitlin + Michael
by Lindsey Craig May 17
THEIR STORY: Caitlin and Michael grew up in Denton and went to the same elementary, middle and high school. Despite this, they didn’t officially meet until they were visiting their parents after graduating college. Caitlin and Michael met at a local bar, and with a little bit of liquid courage, they struck up a conversation.
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Michael surprised Caitlin by decorating their back yard with lights and candles. He proposed in front of a projector playing photos of them as their favorite love songs played in the background. After the proposal, Michael planned a backyard movie night with all of their friends to celebrate, making the whole night a blast!
MARIE ANTOINETTE INSPIRATION: Caitlin and Michael’s wedding featured an eclectic romantic style inspired by the movie “Marie Antoinette.” Caitlin wanted the color palette to have rich jewel tones, yet still be soft and rustic. Caitlin added unique elements such as kale, lavender and grapes to the centerpieces to add for an eclectic feel.
THE SETTING: Since the couple began dating in Austin, they opted to get married at Barr Mansion. The property is filled with lovely gardens surrounding the historic beautiful mansion, as well as plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces.
BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS: The bride’s bouquet was crafted by STEMS Floral Design and Productions showcasing purple ranunculus, caramel antique garden roses, Queen Ann’s lace, ivory spray roses, blue thistles, purple sweet peas, fresh lavender, pink Astrantia, and seasonal green and purple foliage wrapped in beautiful champagne and plum velvet ribbons.
PUPPY LOVE: As dog lovers, Caitlin and Michael included their dog, Luna, in the wedding as the flower pup. Their Chihuahua-pug was adorned with a flower collar and escorted by their 2-year-old nephew. The entire scene was adorable!
