Gabriela Fajardo Weds Alejandro Guerra | Festive Spanish Wedding by Sophie Epton Photography
January 21
Sophie Epton Photography wows us again with the incredible photos she captured from Gabriela and Alejandro’s festive Spanish inspired wedding. Both the bride and groom have huge families who traveled from as far away as Puerto Rico and Mexico, and you can feel all the exciting and positive energy of this super fun celebration. The weather was unseasonably cold in Austin that day, but according to the bride, “despite the weather, each photo Sophie Epton Photography took is a bright and colorful masterpiece, and I don’t think I’ll ever tire of going through them!”

Gabriela and Alejandro met at the University of Texas at Austin. They were in the same biology class their freshman year but didn’t actually meet until a couple years later at “80s night” at a local bar. They both love the outdoors and frequently go on short camping trips together. They were hiking in Santa Fe one weekend and had reached the top of a hill with a beautiful view. He laid a blanket out on the ground and proposed at that moment. Even though they’d been together for nearly 5 years, she had no idea the proposal was coming!
After a traditional Catholic ceremony, shuttles transported everyone to the Barr Mansion for the reception. Guests were welcomed to cocktail hour with a mariachi and miniature beer burros. After the first dances were complete, the bride and groom took a break to cut the cake, then let loose dancing salsa.
