The vibrant city of Austin, TX, has become a destination hotspot for brides from across the country. Of course, we’ve all known this secret because we’ve seen firsthand the talented work of the vendors that make up this fabulous market. In addition, right outside the lively city is the incredible Hill Country which offers a relaxing escape with stunning venues. As more brides realize the appeal of saying “I do” in Austin, you might be wondering about ways to make your Austin wedding feel personalized to you. Kristin Catter Events is here to talk all about wedding design personalization and share the services she provides for brides looking to host their big day in the destination hotspot of Austin, TX.

What wedding planning services do you offer?

“I offer full service full service all the way down to month-of coordination and everything in between. All packages are customizable.”

Full Service

“Full service planning starts with a budget meeting and is hands-on with every single selection of vendor, venue, all correspondence, research, negotiations, payment tracking and design…really anything and everything underneath the wedding day umbrella.”

Month of Coordination

“Month of coordination begins 30 days out from your event date and is designed for clients who are looking for someone to come in and execute. We dot the i’s and cross the t’s.”

Customization

“We offer several add-on services and packages. Whether you want recommendations on vendors to hire, design personalization assistance, additional site visits or consultations. We really focus on initial meetings with clients to listen to their needs and then create a package based on that. There is no one size fits all. Every couple has different needs, and we focus on that instead of locking clients into specific packages.”

Let’s Talk Design Personalization!

What is your experience planning mulit-cultural weddings?

“We love when couples embrace their culture and want to share it with their guests. We have planned tea ceremonies, Sangeets, handfasting, Sofrehs, Dragon Dances, Chuppahs, Quaker ceremonies, lasso ceremonies, Crowning and so much more!”

What extra steps do you take to accommodate different styles of weddings?

“If there is a tradition or cultural element that our clients want to incorporate into their day and we are not familiar with it, we research! If we aren’t educated in the matter, we are upfront with our clients and ask for their explanation of a tradition first and then from there we do our homework.”

What suggestions do you give couples to make their ceremony unique to them?

“The ceremony is the most important part of your event. We encourage couples to focus on their relationship and personalities in order to create a ceremony that is a reflection of who they are, whether it is through vows, reading, scripture or music. The sky’s the limit with the details. Be as traditional or non-traditional as you want.”

What decor items do you coordinate personally? Do you include set-up and tear-down?

“We handle small personal decor for our clients on the wedding day. These include placement of small items such as the guestbook, table numbers, dinner menus, escort cards, bar menus, cake cutting set, picture frames, etc. We do not create centerpieces, hang signage or create backdrops. Our team is there to provide support to your vendors and to our clients. We are not there to be a set-up and tear-down team.”

Are there any considerations to make specifically for an Austin wedding?

“We have so many clients not just from out of town, but out of state. It is crucial to pay attention to what is going on in the city when selecting a date. Will there be inflation on travel and accommodations? Are you in peak season or off season? Is it a holiday weekend? All of these variables affect not just your access to vendors, but what your overall experience will be for your guests. Many people will make a vacation out of traveling to Austin for your wedding, so embrace that.”
