This Couple Had the Cutest Engagement Session at Laguna Gloria

Captured in effortlessly beautiful photos by Emily Figurelli Photography, this couple’s engagement session around the property at The Contemporary Austin – Laguna Gloria is so flirty and cute! Kelly and John’s story began when they first met in college! The pair became fast friends, hiding not-so-secret crushes on each other for years. As time passed, their flirtatious friendship progressed, and they eventually began dating soon after graduating college – ready to move on to their next stage of life together. When the time is right, you just know! They look so ready to be wed in these sweet photos around Laguna Gloria which happens to be where they are tying the knot, a detail that is one of the soon-to-be bride’s favorites. “I just LOVE our venue,” Kelly says. “It embodies the wedding style we envisioned in every way imaginable.” In addition to its tropical-looking locale, John and Kelly’s ethereal garden ceremony will include a palette of whites, neutral tones, and soft blushes in May of 2021. We can’t wait to see all their romantic details captured beautifully like Emily Figurelli Photography does so well! Read on to hear Kelly’s sweet story about how John popped the question. Cheers to Kelly and John!

From the bride: “John and I had planned a weekend get-together at John’s dad’s house on Lake LBJ with some of our closest friends. As it was our first time visiting his new house, John’s dad gave us a tour of the house upon arrival. They casually mentioned that we should try out the elevator, so we stepped inside in order to be taken downstairs to the open-area patio. Much to John’s chagrin, the elevator actually got stuck! Luckily, a few moments later, the elevator doors opened. John stepped outside first and began walking towards a large wall decorated with gold-foil balloons. It took me several moments to process that those gold foil balloon letters on the wall that spelled out ‘Will You Marry Me’ were actually meant for me. I was in total shock! He got down on one knee and stumbled over his words to eventually get out, ‘Will you?’ Of course, I said yes! It was so special to be able to celebrate with all of our friends, and our sweet puppy, for the rest of the weekend.”
