Christine Wei & Robert Xu

Christine and Robert were wed in the sweetest simple, romantic wedding held at Mae’s Ridge that perfectly reflected their effortless love for one another. The pair first met at an Asian American Campus Ministry large group but didn’t really start talking until the spring semester of their freshman year at The University of Texas during one of their biomedical engineering labs. Between long hours studying for shared classes and having overlapping friend groups from campus ministries, the two became really close friends throughout their remaining years of college. They officially started dating a few months after graduation and finally got engaged in the fall of 2020!

The day before their wedding, Christine and Robert did a Chinese tea ceremony honoring both sets of parents in thanking them and serving them tea, and parents give blessings in the form of words and gifts in return. When the day finally came for their simple and sweet Houston wedding, Christine and Robert enlisted the help of Diletta Elaine Weddings to create a down-to-earth wedding design consisting of cheery colors like pinks and blues. Bridesmaids in long, petal-pink gowns each chose their own dress style for comfort, and we love the cohesive result that makes bride Christine stand out just the right amount!

After Christine and Robert said “I do,” guests continued into a reception space styled to the nines with rattan back chairs at tables set with citrus-hued florals. Everyone enjoyed a fun-filled evening full of dancing thanks to Pour Vous Entertainment Group and lots of laughs, while bride and groom share one of their favorite parts of the day was getting the chance to talk to their guests. Read on for a note from Christine and Robert on their biggest lesson learned as a couple throughout the wedding planning process and see all the love unfold below. Cheers!

Christine and Robert’s Biggest Lesson Learned:

“We practiced and learned about how to communicate and manage priorities and expectations with one another since this was the first big endeavor my husband and I had to plan and work on together. So, although wedding planning was stressful, it was also a sweet time to see how well we worked together.”
