Today we’re bringing you insider bridal beauty tips and upcoming trend insights from expert Pepper Pastor! We asked Pepper all the questions every bride wants to know so you can be well on your way to finding the perfect look for your wedding day!
What makeup trends are you excited about for this year?
This year deep, rich lip colors are trending but my advice to brides: don’t go entirely on trend with your make up. Pick an element or tone that’s on trend and bring in a little to your look. If you are more daring then take the trend to a bolder level. I am a fan of beauty makeup with a slight edge. I love contouring and naturally enhancing the facial features, then picking one element to really enhance. I’ll often do a rich smokey eye and balance with a soft peach lip, or I love a bright, wide eye (with lots of lashes) balanced with a bold lip.
What hair trends are you excited about for 2016?
Half up, half down. Bridgette Bardot, 60’s inspired and tousled.
Wearing the hair down with hairline pieces pulled back in knots or twists.
Clean and intricate asymmetrical looks, with the hair swept to one side.
Less braids and more soft, intricate shapes.
What advice do you have for a bride trying to find the right look for her day?
It’s really important to find where you are most comfortable and use this as your starting point. For example, if you feel best with your hair down but want volume and can’t stand hair in your face, then half up is ideal. Say you love your hair in a pony pulled away from your face, then a full up style will be a great choice. Once you identify what makes you feel good, then bring in all your inspiration: earrings, theme, neckline and shape of dress, your hair texture… Pull these key ingredients together with the helpful eye of a pro and you will have a flawless look!
What should brides do to prepare for their wedding?
Most preparations should be done 5-8 days before the big day. If you were tanning, stop. Get in a facial, do color, a trim and a deep conditioning treatment. Leave only your nails to about 2 days before.
What beauty product should every bride have?
Hairspray!!! If you can’t with hairspray, you can’t. My favorite is L’Oreal Professionnel Infinium 3. Its very strong yet flexible. You’ll get the hold you need without a crisp feel.
Any other insider tips you have for brides-to-be?
Look into accessories for your hair. There are so many styles and they can add such a unique approach to any look. Change up the norm by wearing a small earring or understated necklace and try a large ornate brooch in your hair.
