2016 is coming to a close and we’ve loved every minute of it! As we wrap up another year of sharing the most fabulous Austin weddings and the talented vendors that brought them to life, we couldn’t help but reflect on some of our favorite wedding details found within the pages of the mags. Over the next week, we’ll be looking back at our favorite wedding trends found in the 2016 issues from gorgeous wedding gowns to awe-worthy florals! We’re kicking off the week with a look at our favorite florals. Take a look at these blooming wedding floral trends, and stay tuned each day to see what trends we hope stick around for 2017! Cheers to the new year!
Floral Abundance
Oversized bouquets have been all the rage this year! We love spotting a bride with her bouquet in the crook of her arm in lieu the the traditional handheld version. This is the perfect style to fill the arrangement with an abundance of greenery!

Adorned Tree Altar Scenes
For the outdoor soiree, one of our favorite floral arrangements to make an appearance at the altar this year was floral and greenery swag-adorned trees. Weather cascading down the tree trunk or draped between two trees, this loveliness made for a fantastic altar backdrop.

Greenery Swag
Maybe one of the hottest wedding trends in 2016 was the incorporation of greenery swag beyond your traditional altar scene or backdrops. Seating to tablescapes and everything in between was rocking this earthy and organic look this season, and we can’t wait to see how this trend develops in 2017!

Minimalist Florals
While we’re already accustomed to over-the-top blooms in Austin weddings, a more minimalist approach to florals made an appearance in Austin weddings this year. Loose leaf floral greenery was used regularly as simple backdrops or adorning seating and furniture rentals and miniature florals arrangements were added to altar scenes and table settings. Love this modern style!
