This Austin Engagement Had Fur Babies and a Fancy Feathered Visitor

Formal attire and a fun, feathered visitor were just some of the highlights of this Austin engagement session captured by Dreamy Elk Photography & Design, LLC of adorable Rachel and Trevor! The pair first met during their senior year studying at LSU and now recall liking one another but nothing came of it. A few years later, they just happened to be at the same Austin bar on West 6th to cheer on their LSU Tigers. That night, Trevor asked Rachel on a date and since then the two have been simply inseparable! Now they are planning their May 2022 wedding to be held at The Woodbine Mansion where a palette of light blue with pops of spring colors like coral, pink and yellow will help establish their simple and whimsical theme. Décor from Premiere Events will surely set the tone for a luxe mansion affair whether they wed indoors or out. The couple is most excited to have all their favorite people in one place, but also about their signature cocktails named after their two precious dogs: the Ruby Rita and Moscow Max. See their exotic Austin engagement session below that features a few peacock appearances, Rachel and Trevor’s fur babies, and a whole lot of love – plus, read on for the sweetest proposal story of how he popped the question. Cheers to the soon-to-be Reeds!

From the bride on how he asked: “We go to New Orleans each January for Tita’s birthday (Trevor’s grandmother) with Trevor’s family. Trevor told me that family portraits would be on the agenda this year. When we arrived at Hotel Provincial for the portraits, we were the first of the family to arrive. Looking back, I should’ve known something was up… Trevor’s family likes to tease me for running behind schedule from time to time. We enjoyed a cocktail in the hotel bar until Trevor said his mom had arrived and we should meet her in the courtyard. As we entered the courtyard, I remember thinking it was way too romantic for family portraits. Picture a classic New Orleans courtyard with twinkling lights, a trickling fountain, and not a single person in sight. It was the perfect place to say yes to marrying my person. Celebratory champagne was served and Trevor’s mom and stepdad came out of their hiding spots. Trevor didn’t stop there with the surprises. He also arranged a local photographer to capture the special night, along with a surprise engagement party at one of my best friend’s houses. It was the best night ever!”
