A Roaring Twenties Inspired Austin Wedding

Between the hints of gold, lush florals and Megan’s glamorous dress, it feels like we are in the midst of the Roaring Twenties! Planning a wedding can be quite overwhelming (especially in the middle of a pandemic), but thanks to Kristin Catter Events, Megan’s dream wedding came to life, and it was all things grand and glam! 

Megan was completely surprised when Justin popped the question! The couple planned a romantic ski trip, but Megan did not think that Justin was proposing anytime soon. Which ended up being right…sort of. Justin thought that Megan was anticipating a proposal, so he ended up not asking on the trip. On the way home, however, Megan put her hand on her soon to be fiancé’s knee to tell him she loves him, and she felt the ring box in his pocket. It took her a few moments to realize it was not just earrings or a necklace as an early Valentine’s Day gift, but a ring! Cue the happy tears! 

The tears of joy carried all the way through to the ceremony when Megan and her father shared a sweet and heartwarming moment. “One of my favorites is when my father and I were standing in front of the doors about to walk down the aisle. I was filled with so many emotions – I was so excited to be marrying my best friend, nervous to be the center of everyone’s attention, nervous about tripping in my heels, etc. I looked at my dad, and I could tell that we were both about to lose it and start crying. My father is normally my rock and one to always make me laugh in tough situations. So I turned to him and said ‘Please make me laugh, I really don’t want to cry,’ being put on the spot he just goes, ‘Do I have a booger?’ They opened the doors, and trying to get one more laugh, he just whispered, ‘Gee, what are they all looking at?’ Needless to say my dad came through once again and had me laughing all the way down the aisle. I will cherish this moment with my father for the rest of my life.” It is moments like these that make our hearts smile! Here’s to the Pevetos!
