Colorful Boho Austin Wedding | Katie + Jonathan

LOVE STORY:  Katie caught Jonathan’s eye for the first time in seventh grade, but it took a high school spring break trip to South Padre Island before they really caught each other’s attention again. After several years of dating, the couple decided to take a road trip to Rosarito, Mexico. Their first night was spent at an amazing dinner at the hotel followed by a romantic walk on the beach. As they were going to dip their feet in the water, Jonathan pulled out a small box and proposed to Katie as fireworks were going off in the distance.

GET HER LOOK: Katie wore a gorgeous strapless sweetheart gown designed by Martina Liana with a trumpet silhouette crafted in lace and organza. She later changed into a scalloped lace cocktail dress for the couple’s grand departure.

WEDDING DETAILS: Both from California, Katie and Jonathan wanted their Texas wedding to have some beachy, bohemian flare. With the help of their incredible vendors, Mercury Hall was transformed into a whimsical dreamer’s retreat. They also incorporated their love story into the reception décor with photos from high school and college on each table. Striking pops of color captured the couple’s lively spirit and set the tone for the entire evening. The bold hues of fuchsia, purple, yellow and peach created a dazzling color palette.

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT: The bride’s favorite moment of their wedding day was when her niece played the acoustic guitar and sang “Marry Me” by Train. It was so touching and made the day even more special. Katie also cherished the moment that Jonathan re-proposed. Katie was in such shock during the first proposal and often teased him that he needed to do it over again. It was a surprise to her when he got down on one knee in front of everyone at the reception so she could remember the moment perfectly the second time!
