This Corona Wedding Got Rescheduled Just a Week Before the Big Day

Adriane and Wade were among many other brides and grooms whose plans were affected by COVID-19, but that didn’t stop them from tying the knot in the sweetest Corona wedding, complete with an intimate chapel ceremony followed by a celebration with family at their river house in New Braunfels! Originally planning to be wed at Camp Lucy, Adriane and Wade’s wedding plans were canceled less than a week out from their original date. Leaving little wiggle room for planning, the pair decided it best to be wed in an intimate Corona wedding to be followed up with a larger event later on. They worked tirelessly with the help of Lotus Events to rebook vendors they could while making the best out of the most unprecedented of times. There is no predicting what comes next in a global pandemic, but tying the knot at a time like this makes you focus on what’s truly important!

“I learned that sometimes you think have you everything under control and planned out perfectly, but things can change in the blink of an eye. It is important to keep perspective; the marriage is the most important part of any wedding.”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves, Adriane! While all the prettiest parts of weddings are what catch our eye, all that remains afterward are the memories. So enjoy your day, even if it is a rainy one! This floral-filled intimate affair captured flawlessly by Mint Photography warms our hearts and so does its bright and punchy summertime palette! Consisting of the sweetest intimate chapel ceremony, a romantic, riverside reception and all the luxe details of a large al-fresco event, we love everything about this scaled-down soiree! Read on to hear the bride’s full story about her wedding day. Cheers to Adriane and Wade!

From the bride: “Due to COVID-19, most everything we had originally planned was out the window. Unfortunately, the wedding we had intended to have at Camp Lucy had to be canceled less than a week before our wedding day, which didn’t leave us much time for planning. Thankfully, our vendors were extremely accommodating and agreed to meet us in New Braunfels. Terra Vista Strings performed beautifully during our ceremony at St. John’s and Flower Power Productions did a round trip from Houston to New Braunfels to deliver floral. Kelly with Mint Photography arrived hours before the ceremony to capture all of the day’s events. After the ceremony, we took photos in the church and then went back to our house where Kelly and Tara used the floral arrangements to display a beautiful background for our couple’s photos. As if COVID-19 wasn’t enough, it pretty much rained the entire day, but as they say, rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck and a happy marriage! LoLa Beauty sent a makeup artist and a hairstylist to the river house and we spent the morning/early afternoon getting ready. Once dressed, we were off to the church to get married! Due to COVID-19, I had two bridesmaids (my sister, Angela, MOG Kelley, and Wade’s sister, Tracy). Wade had one groomsman (his brother-in-law, Greg Plummer). With a reduced wedding party, we definitely kept them busy. Greg was continuously replying to other groomsmen asking for updates and helping Wade while Angela was making sure all of the details of the day were not overlooked. His niece Bailey and nephew Jake, along with my sister, were readers. We will be forever grateful for our Rector, Ripp Hardaway and St. John’s Church for allowing us to have our intimate ceremony in their beautiful chapel. Ripp was amazing during our entire engagement process, and we enjoyed our marriage prep discussions with him, but his calming presence during all of the chaos was truly a blessing. We can’t imagine anyone else marrying us. We had our first dance in the living room and enjoyed a delicious meal catered from McAdoo’s. Next, we toasted for our first time as husband and wife and then cut our cake. We spent the rest of the night with our family, laughing, sharing stories, and enjoying our first night as husband and wife! We would like to thank our parents, Patrick and Susan Batla and Mike and Kay Sadler for their love and support throughout.”
