How They Met
It all started when Victoria’s friend Meredith and her husband Tony invited John over for dinner, who was in Dallas on business. Meredith grilled John with questions at dinner, and the next day, Victoria received an out-of-the-blue text from her friend: “I met your soulmate.” Completely caught off guard, Victoria tried to get some information about this supposed soulmate online, but he had no social media. Given the circumstances, Victoria let Meredith give John her number. Soon after, Victoria received a random call from someone she didn’t know. After realizing it was John, she called him back and the two talked for three hours. The next night they talked for four, with the subsequent days following suit. Wanting to meet in person, John convinced Victoria to visit him in Austin by sending her a business proposal stating 10 reasons why she should make the trek down. Convinced, Victoria showed up to John’s house where the two enjoyed a delicious dinner and spent the weekend together. After that, the two were inseparable, and John popped the question nine months later. They tied the knot on June 26, 2023.
The Wedding Day
Victoria and John’s wedding began with getting ready at their venue, where Victoria and her bridesmaids were beautified by the experts at Think Brink Beauty. After a fun and emotional first look, the time came for the ceremony and reception. Victoria and John went for a garden-themed wedding with black tie attire and touches of champagne and pink throughout. Their vision was made possible by BBJ La Tavola and Premiere Events, who provided stunning decor, linens and rentals for their wedding.
Victoria and John’s special day was captured by Carhart Photography. From details to pre-ceremony to couple portraits and more, the Rivers’ wedding day will live on in both their memories and on their mantel. It all came together under their devoted wedding planner, Bianca Nichole Co Events (BNCO). Along with their help in planning the event, BNCO proved to be a crucial part of Victoria and John’s wedding day. Their day-of coordinator, Maci, handled all the small details so Victoria and John could relax and enjoy the moment. “From handling vendor setup to fanning under my dress, she was a life saver,” said Victoria.
Victoria and John’s Favorite Detail
“My wedding day was a blur, but my favorite memory was our private first look. John was expecting our private first look to just be us, but I had secretly ordered an old 80s wedding dress for his Best Man to wear and pose as me for the first look. It was easily the funniest moment and completely lightened up the day.”
