Week after week, our team receives and showcases stunning weddings from across Austin, all courtesy of the immensely talented wedding vendors and lovely couples who submit to us. Each month, our editorial team selects one spectacular wedding to highlight, one that stands above the rest for its uniqueness and beauty.

This month, we’re featuring a yellow and green garden party with plenty of whimsical touches! Keep reading to discover the beautiful details of Lucie and Alex’s late October wedding.

Meaningful Traditions

As a mixed couple, Lucie and Alex brought multiple cultures and traditions to their wedding. Honoring her Chinese heritage, Lucie wore a qipao-inspired bolero for the ceremony and a red dress for the after party (a traditional color for Chinese brides). The couple also incorporated several Jewish traditions to honor Alex, such as a chuppah and dancing the hora.

Though they live in the United States now, Lucie and Alex each spent parts of their childhood in Europe. Highlighting both of these residences, the couple provided guests with American and European snacks in their welcome bags!

The Wedding Day

Along with bits and pieces of their cultures, Lucie and Alex’s wedding showcased greenery, yellow hues and woodsy elements. Invitations, calligraphy and signage were done by the talented team at Pink Champagne Designs, welcoming the couple’s closest family and friends to their celebration.

Each of Lucie and Alex’s event spaces were decorated with gorgeous rentals from Premiere Events, pulling off a whimsical garden party feel. In addition to their decor, the pair cut into a classic white cake by Michelle’s Patisserie. The confection was adorned with luxurious and intricate piping and topped with a classic bride-and-groom figurine!

Thanks to Caitlin Rose Photography, Lucie and Alex have countless photos to look back on. “Alex and I are both quite shy in front of a camera, so we were a bit anxious about getting photographed all day. We wanted it to feel as natural and candid as possible,” writes the bride. “Caitlin managed to make us feel so comfortable. She really captured the spirit of the day in a way that I will always feel so blessed to get to look back on.”

Lucie & Alex’s Favorite Moment

“My favorite wedding day memory was when my mom, Alex and I all took the getaway car to the afterparty together — my mom riding shotgun, us in the backseat. It felt like she was dropping us off at a school dance. I loved it. It was a really special way to share a moment of transition with my mom.”
