Week after week, our team receives and showcases stunning weddings from across Austin, all courtesy of the immensely talented wedding vendors and lovely couples who submit to us. Each month, our editorial team selects one spectacular wedding to highlight, one that stands above the rest for its uniqueness and beauty.
This month’s Vows that Wow features a classic southern wedding with pops of black and green. Jennifer and Dustin’s timeless affair took place on January 12, 2024.
How the Couple Met
Cooped up in their homes during 2020’s pandemic, Jennifer and Dustin took to various dating apps to meet new people. Neither had any luck, however, until downloading Hinge. “I previously tried other dating apps and met a lot of great people, but not ‘the one,’” Jennifer writes.
After the two matched, they had great conversations, but remained friends for a few months. Jennifer knew what she wanted and told Dustin she was ready for something serious. “I wasn’t looking for a pen pal and if we were going to continue to talk, he needed to ask me on a date,” she writes.
Come December 2020, the couple began dating, and two years later, Dustin popped the question!
The Wedding Day
Jennifer started the day by getting dolled up with her bridesmaids by the experts at Think Brink Beauty. They spent the morning sipping champagne and enjoying the beautiful getting ready room provided by their venue, The Woodbine Mansion. “Getting ready with my bridesmaids was so special,” writes the bride. “They really are the best and made it such a relaxing morning.”
After a meaningful ceremony at their church, the couple headed back to The Woodbine Mansion to get the party started. Before joining their guests at cocktail hour, Jennifer and Dustin snuck a peak at their reception. “After pictures, we did a grand reveal of the tent with my aunt and uncle, owners of Bouquets of Austin,” writes the bride. “It was so special to share this moment with them and see the beautiful work their team executed.”
Gorgeous flowers coupled with decor and rentals from Premiere Events made for a breathtaking space. The couple and their guests enjoyed dinner and dancing, complete with light-up cowboy hats and glow sticks! The fun didn’t stop there, as the couple’s on-foot send-off included sparklers and fireworks from Sparks and Co! “When we were headed to our exit, I surprised Dustin with a firework exit,” writes Jennifer. “He was so surprised, and I love the look on his face in the photos!”
Thanks to their wedding planner Jennifer Seals from Pearl Events Austin, everything went smoothly. “The day was everything I ever wanted,” says the bride. “I can’t think of anything I would change. I cried so many more happy tears than I thought, and I think that’s a good sign!”
Jennifer & Dustin’s Favorite Detail
“While our guests dined on tacos, chicken sliders, macaroni and cheese and broccolini, Dustin and I shared a private meal inside the Mansion overlooking our reception. We really enjoyed this quiet time together and were so grateful we ate separately.”
