Week after week, our team receives and showcases stunning weddings from across Austin, all courtesy of the immensely talented wedding vendors and lovely couples who submit to us. Each month, our editorial team selects one spectacular wedding to highlight, one that stands above the rest for its uniqueness and beauty.
This month, we’re featuring a playful celebration with vibrant colors and fun patterns. Kanani and Art said “I do” on March 20, 2024.
The Wedding Day
The morning of Kanani and Art’s wedding at Barr Mansion was filled with laughter and joy. As Kanani got ready surrounded by her closest friends, Art was putting on his finishing touches, preparing for the moment he’d finally see his bride. Kanani looked breathtaking in her off-the-shoulder gown, and Art’s corduroy suit and bolo tie added a dash of rustic charm. Photographer Aurelia Baca beautifully captured the emotions and details of this special day.
When it came time to walk down the aisle, each member of the bridal party entered to the soulful sounds of Texas Sun Music. The ceremony space was a vision of understated elegance with vibrant florals adorning the altar, creating a minimalist yet captivating atmosphere. Planner Bianca Nichole and Co. executed the bride’s vision by incorporating lounge chairs among the ceremony seating, adding a relaxed and stylish vibe.
Playful details brought personality to every aspect of the reception. Scalloped napkins, tortoise-shell flatware, and delicate bud vases made for whimsical tablescapes, while the head table channeled a speakeasy-inspired look with cozy, intimate decor. The vibrant palette of oranges, greens, blues, and yellows gave the setting a fresh and lively feel. Later, Kanani changed into a chic party dress, ready to dance the night away, and The Homestead Photo Booth set up outside, drawing guests of all ages into the fun.
Kanani + Art’s Favorite Wedding Day Memory
“There were two moments that were extremely special to us. Our first look was one; it was so special getting to see each other so dressed up for one another. We both got emotional and it just felt like in that moment we both thought, “OMG! This is really happening!!” The other moment that we will never forget was, after the ceremony, all of our guests were at cocktail hour, enjoying the live music. Art and I were tucked away, just us two, listening to everyone talking, laughing, and enjoying the event. We had this moment to just talk to each other, talk about how nervous we were, how happy we felt to be officially married. We danced to the music with no one watching. It was the perfect moment for us to just bask in the day.”
