Week after week, our team receives and showcases stunning weddings from across Austin, all courtesy of the immensely talented wedding vendors and lovely couples who submit to us. Each month, our editorial team selects one spectacular wedding to highlight, one that stands above the rest for its uniqueness and beauty.

This month, we’re featuring a classic black and white wedding set against spring greens and autumnal florals. Sam and Chase said “I do” on April 12, 2024.

Non-Traditional Flare

As the first gay wedding in both Sam and Chase’s families, the couple added some nontraditional elements to their special day. Although the ceremony was what you might expect for a typical American wedding, the two had fun with fashion choices. “Since there were no brides, we told all the ladies to feel free to wear white,” writes Sam. “We had mixed-gender wedding parties, and our grooms ladies wore white as well.”

The Wedding Day

Sam and Chase tied the knot at the gorgeous Springdale Station, surrounded by lush greenery. Their ceremony was filled with unique touches. “We wrote our own, very personal vows, which set the tone for the night: intimate, full of love and substance, but not too serious,” writes Sam.

The couple’s friends also played a big role in their nuptials. “One of our best friends, Caroline, sang us down the aisle to ‘Cowboy Take Me Away.’ Another best friend, Haley, officiated the wedding,” Sam writes.

Their ceremony and reception were adorned with warm florals by Verbena Floral Design. The couple’s ceremony arch was nothing short of breathtaking. Sam and Chase’s flowers weren’t the only personal touch. “There were so many details that made our wedding day special and tailored to us. As a wedding gift, one of our friends home-brewed custom beers/ciders and created custom labels with our engagement pictures on the bottles,” Sam writes.

Everything came together with grace and ease thanks to Everlasting Events TX. “The day wouldn’t have been possible without Brooke and the wedding planning team,” according to the couple. “They were professional, thorough, and kept the event rolling seamlessly all night long.”

Sam & Chase’s Favorite Moment

“Our favorite memory of the entire day was probably being on the dance floor with all of our friends and family. At one point during the night we snuck away to change out of our tuxes into all white, and DJ Blake re-introduced us to Beyonce’s ‘TEXAS HOLD ‘EM’ as we carried stacks of white LED light-up cowboy hats for the crowd. It was (dare-we-say) iconic.”
