Week after week, our team receives and showcases stunning weddings from across Austin, all courtesy of the immensely talented wedding vendors and lovely couples who submit to us. Each month, our editorial team selects one spectacular wedding to highlight, one that stands above the rest for its uniqueness and beauty.

This month, we’re spotlighting a vibrant, multi-cultural celebration bursting with color and love. Brittany and Chris said “I do” on October 19, 2024.

The Wedding Day

The morning of the wedding, Brittany and her bridal party enjoyed time together in the bridal suite, getting dolled up by the talented Luna Beauty and Bridal team. Brittany looked radiant with a romantic bun and delicate curled pieces framing her face. Her natural glam makeup was simply perfect. For the first look, Brittany wore a breathtaking lace gown with straps, while Chris complemented her beautifully in a blue suit paired with a vibrant floral tie that matched their colorful wedding theme. Brittany’s bridal party wore alternating pale yellow and pink floral dresses, adding a touch of whimsy to the celebration.

The couple celebrated with a traditional Catholic wedding ceremony. Following the heartfelt vows, guests made their way to the reception, greeted by a splash of vibrant colors. Pink, yellow, purple, and blue adorned the décor, from the florals and signage to the checkered dance floor. For the reception, Brittany and Chris embraced tradition by changing into custom white áo dài—traditional Vietnamese attire.

As Brittany shared:
“It was really important to me (the bride) to incorporate some aspect of my Vietnamese heritage into our special day. We decided to have custom áo dài, a traditional Vietnamese dress, made for both of us to wear during our reception. Traditionally, áo dài colors are typically red and gold, but we decided the perfect blend of cultures would be to do white ao dais to tie in the Western tradition—a way for us to represent the mixing of cultures with our two families coming together. Chris was SO excited to be able to take part in this Vietnamese tradition, and it was so special for me to share this part of myself and my heritage with him!”

The couple also honored the Vietnamese chào bàn tradition, where they went table to table greeting guests and expressing gratitude. During this custom, family and friends presented envelopes filled with money as their gifts. After these touching moments, everyone hit the dance floor and celebrated into the night. Brittany’s final outfit change—a chic short white dress—allowed her to dance freely and end the evening in style.

Brittany and Chris’s Favorite Wedding Day Memory

“Our wedding day was truly the best day of our lives, better than we could’ve ever imagined, so it’s hard to pick a single moment. The day flew by in an instant, but the moment where everything finally slowed down was when essentially everything we had scheduled was said and done, and we were just out on the dance floor. After a jam-packed day, being able to take a breath as HUSBAND & WIFE (!!) and have the time of our lives – dancing the night away, surrounded by all the people we love and cherish most – was just so unbelievably special.”
