With our new issue hitting newsstands, we couldn’t wait to introduce you to the talented wedding planners within! Up today, meet Kelsea Vaughan of Touch of Whimsy. Kelsea’s team of passionate ladies includes event consultants, designers and even a floral designer on staff, serving couples throughout Austin, San Antonio, the Hill Country and South Texas. Brides and grooms are in wonderful hands with this group! With several nationally published weddings in their portfolio and a friendly, enthusiastic attitude, Kelsea and her team bring the expertise and the FUN to every wedding they plan.
“We do it all!” Kelsea says. “My favorite part is being a part of the design process from beginning to end. We take the bride’s inspirational images and turn them into a mood board. We create a floral/decor proposal and mesh their personal style with our aesthetic. Then, the magic happens! All of these beautiful ideas the bride had in the beginning come to life. When Touch of Whimsy isn’t playing a pivotal role in the design process, it is harder to obtain multiple vendors that understand the client’s vision.”

“This shoot brought a style that is so different than what we are seeing with our other brides. Imagine industrial meets vintage chic… with BRIGHT pops of color.” We love the balance of the metallic and rustic elements with soft, organic florals and the industrial vibe. It all meshes so well!
As for what inspires Touch of Whimsy in their designs: “I find inspiration from so many different styles, so it’s hard to fit what I love in one box. I’m in between traditional and organic, with a pop of color,” Kelsea explains.

Don’t you just adore the bold tones in this wedding? Absolutely perfect for an autumn wedding in the heart of San Antonio.
“This fall wedding is by far my favorite!” Kelsea says. As for the element she loved most? “It’s a tie between the compote centerpieces in jewel tones and our monogrammed boxwood wall. They both brought so much to the space. One of our favorite wedding trends is unique floral installments – combining flowers with different textures like balloons, branches or metal piping.”
The Touch of Whimsy team offers tons of valuable advice for their brides, but one tried-and-true piece of wisdom they’ve shared is this: “Two things: 1. Be you! Don’t just replicate something you saw on Pinterest. Take your personal interests and turn them into a wedding in the classiest way. (We can help!) 2. Stay conscientious of your spending plan, and stick to it! Nothing is more stressful than receiving the last few bills from vendors and you are way over budget.” Solid advice, ladies.
