Meet The Bakers – April Weilbacher + Ashley Landerman
“Our childhood was filled with crafting! From puff paint t-shirts to grapevine wreaths, Mom Tart always had us working on a creative project. Cooking was always something we did as a family, and when our grandmother passed away, Ashley took over the duty of making her red velvet cake for birthdays and the like. When we opened 2tarts Bakery, we started with simple, rustic cake designs but as our skill set grew, we were able to apply our skills as artists to cakes. We are inspired by colors and textures we see in fashion, modern art and pop culture. We both have extensively trained in the fine arts from oil painting to pottery and bring that sensibility to our cake designs.”
