Rachel Bostwick + Gabe Maroney’s Holiday Austin Wedding
SWEET BEGINNINGS: While Rachel and Gabe aren’t exactly sure when the first time they met was, they have naturally gravitated toward one another ever since his arrival at her 16th birthday party. They quickly became inseparable and it took everyone by surprise. From the moment she turned 16, Rachel and Gabe have been happily doing life together.
A PERFECT PROPOSAL: Gabe knew how much it would mean to Rachel to have their families and close friends there when he proposed. He thoughtfully planned an extra special 20th birthday dinner for her. Knowing Gabe doesn’t do public speaking, Rachel’s stomach flipped when he stood up to make a toast. While she couldn’t focus on what he was saying, he slid a shot glass to her, put her customized ring that was formerly her grandmother’s inside and got down on one knee!
GET HER LOOK: Rachel walked down the aisle in a restored version of her mother’s custom-made wedding dress from the 80s. By replacing the original satin with a new ivory silk charmeuse, and customizing it to better fit Rachel’s body type and personal style, the gown was stunning. She also wore vintage earrings found at a thrift store in Gruene, Texas. The jewels had light aquamarine stones that were iridescent enough to pull green from the greenery at the wedding!
AMAZING ALTAR: The flower wall created by Katie from Merveille was Rachel’s favorite. The two boxwood greenery walls with loose greenery, eucalyptus, and copper beech were adorned with white and deep red peonies mixed with garden roses.
HUES SHE USED: After her mother passed away from multiple myeloma, Rachel wanted to honor her as well as make her a part of everything she does. Since the multiple myeloma cancer ribbon is burgundy, Rachel knew she wanted to implement various shades of deep reds and purples. In addition to the deep reds, Rachel added some rose gold and copper to add extra warmth to the color palette. She also incorporated an abundance of greens and lush greenery to complement the natural and unstructured feel of the wedding. The couple also donated all of their florals to Christopher House after the wedding.
