SWEET BEGINNINGS: Lindley and Joseph met shortly after Joe relocated from New Orleans to Washington, D.C. to pursue a job opportunity as a landscape architect. They shared a love of football and enjoyed cheering on their favorite NFL team, the New Orleans Saints.
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Joe proposed on November 17, 2013, two years into their courtship. The morning after a friend’s wedding in Washington, D.C., Joe took the couple’s Goldendoodle, Arabi, on a morning walk while Lindley slept. Joe put a T-shirt on Arabi with a photo of a diamond ring and the words, “Will you marry my daddy?” After Lindley happily accepted the proposal, Joe arranged for 20 of their closest friends to meet for brunch at one of their favorite neighborhood restaurants to toast the couple’s engagement.
GARDEN PARTY: Lindley and Joe had an evening garden party wedding. Lindley fell in love with black and white linens, and used this as her color scheme adding burgundy, gold and fuchsia to the mix with the cocktail tables and flowers. She knew she wanted an outdoor wedding under the stars and Joe is a landscape architect, so it was only appropriate to have the ceremony outside.
WEDDING FESTIVITIES: Lindley’s aunt and uncle hosted a pre-wedding fish fry at their house the night after the rehearsal for members of the family. The day after the wedding, the couple hosted a post-wedding barbecue at County Line on the Lake.
LIFE AFTER WEDDING: The couple now resides in Washington, D.C., where Lindley is a restaurant and hospitality publicist and Joe is a landscape architect.
