SWEET BEGINNINGS: Arlem and Imtiaz met on New Year’s Eve while celebrating what would soon be 2010, each with their own group of friends. The two had one friend in common who introduced them that evening. They happened to be at the same place right before midnight, and the rest is history.
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Imtiaz proposed to Arlem on Christmas morning 2014. The couple had been enjoying their White Elephant gift exchange with Arlem’s family, and there was one gift left. The couple thought it was strange and assumed it was simply an oversight. Arlem’s sister-in-law suggested the family raffle the gift and wrote everyone’s names on a piece of paper. When Arlem’s father-in-law drew the name, he was completely oblivious as to what was going to happen next. He called Arlem’s name who was speechless when she opened the box. Arlem’s heart skipped a beat when she saw Imtiaz on one knee.
HUES TO USE: Inspired by subtle colors that would allow Persian rugs and their choice lounge areas to be the focal points, Arlem and Imtiaz planned a bohemian luxe wedding in hues of vintage blush, grey and beige with pops of gold.
AMAZING ALTAR: Persian rugs led up to the altar where an archway of soft, lush white garden roses, blush peonies, seeded eucalyptus and Israeli ruscus clung to the frame.
SAVORY SWEETS: Blue Note Bakery created a delicious chocolate chipotle cake with a honey rum fondant.
