SWEET BEGINNINGS: Lauren and Chase were both going to do mission work overseas. Chase was headed to India, and Lauren was off to Poland. They met at orientation and were long distance friends for eight months before realizing their full potential.

PERFECT PROPOSAL: Since they spent much of their dating life adventuring and exploring the country in search of barns to photograph, Lauren wasn’t surprised when Chase asked to look at a beautiful subject on a cold December day. Once inside, Chase called Lauren up to the barn loft where she found an antique table, her favorite flowers and a note from Chase. After reading the note, Chase got down on one knee and proposed with a gorgeous vintage ring!

THE SETTING: Lauren knew the second she stepped on the property at Pecan Grove at The Salt Lick that it was the place she wanted to say, “I do.” A creek-side ceremony, coupled with the indoor barn pavilion was perfect for their special day!

VINTAGE BRUNCH WEDDING: After getting engaged, Lauren knew two things: she wanted a morning wedding followed by breakfast, and she didn’t want her wedding day to be traditional. After being inspired by the simplicity and minimalism of both of their styles, the couple decided to keep their color scheme as subtle as possible by implementing lovely shades of white, grey and sea foam.

BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS: Lauren and her mother created all the bouquets to look as though they had just picked them out of a field. They also incorporated feverfew, which is Lauren’s favorite flower.

DELICIOUS DISHES: Pecan Grove at The Salt Lick created a menu specifically for Lauren and Chase’s special day. The menu featured brisket- and gravy-stuffed Texas toast, and chicken and sweet potato waffles! Instead of a cocktail hour, the couple opted for coffee, donuts and pastries. Still to this day, Lauren receives text messages with photos from their guests showcasing their wedding mugs.
