Korean Traditions Tie into an Understated and Refined ATX Wedding

Korean traditions + Western culture = a dream Korean-American wedding. Alice and Anthony tied the knot, having incorporated their culture into their big day! They also quite possibly have one of our favorite proposal stories yet. What Alice thought was a business trip was Anthony flying to Alice’s Chicago hometown to ask her parents for their blessing. Only to finish the trip by flying to his own parents’ home in Pittsburgh to ask them. Fast-forward to Anthony in a tuxedo and a candle-lit TV where he played Alice a trailer of videos of documentation from his ‘work trip.’ At that point, Anthony was down on one knee asking Alice to marry him, with a firm yes from his bride-to-be.

Both coming from immigrant parents, the couple wanted to remain true to their Korean traditions. They wanted to combine their Korean customs with their Western culture. Following their romantic and intimate ceremony, Alice and Anthony changed into Korean attire and included a traditional Paebek ceremony. A gesture special to both of their families.

Alice and Anthony did an amazing job of bringing their cultural customs to a modern space, showcasing their Korean-American background. Their venue was understated and refined. And between the towering windows and the view of Dripping Spring’s rolling hills, they couldn’t have had chosen a dreamier venue. Muted tones of light golden beiges and browns, ivory and dusty blush tones made for a soft and romantic space. Their dream venue was taken up a notch with the most beautiful floral design by Bricolage Curated Florals. Not to mention fairy lights to light up the night. Enchanting fairy lights aside, with their delicious cocktails and hors d’oeuvres by Royal Fig Catering and their tiered cake by Sweet Treets Bakery, the couple’s night was not only elegant and romantic but delectable too! To top it all off, Feather and Twine effortlessly captured all the long-lasting memories for Alice and Anthony to hold onto forevermore. Scroll on for all their wedding deets and a bonus memory from the groom himself!

From the groom on his favorite memory: “We went back and forth whether we wanted to have the first look be down the aisle or more intimately. We decided to have our own first look, and when Alice came out and I saw her for the first time, I described it as ‘the first time I ever lost my breath.’ I started to tear up from how beautiful she looked and how it exceeded all expectations I had in my head before the moment.”
