An Intimate Proposal in Costa Rica

We were on vacation in Costa Rica, our first vacation since the pandemic hit. We were staying in an incredible house with our favorite people. Greg woke up early to go surfing on our first morning there, and I stayed behind since I’m not an early bird. I heard him come back in from surfing but kept my eye mask on because I wasn’t ready to wake up quite yet. Greg came and sat on the bed next to me and told me good morning. He went on with his profession of love, but in such a way that I thought he was just sweetly waking me up on our first day of vacation. He then proceeded to say, “and that’s why I want you to be wife,” and pulled out my DREAM ring (I had told him many, many times what I wanted, and he listened well). I immediately burst into tears and, in pure shock, said, “are you serious?” I couldn’t believe it was finally happening! I sat there crying for a bit before I could get out a “yes.” We then went out to a beautiful breakfast spread under the palapa and celebrated with some bubbles! Greg and I dated for almost five years when we got engaged. I’m a huge romantic, and so, of course, I had the perfect idea of how I wanted to be proposed to, and I made sure that Greg knew my idea of the perfect proposal. He fulfilled my dream with his sweet, intimate proposal. He had tried to switch things up by proposing under the palapa at sunset, but his plans had been derailed. Everything ended up working out for the best, and I couldn’t have asked for a better day.
