Glam Austin Wedding at The Four Seasons | Lauren + Martin
by Lindsey Craig December 23
SWEET BEGINNINGS: Lauren and Martin met at the Elephant Room in downtown Austin. They were sitting at tables next to each other, and Martin struck up a conversation. It was magic.
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Lauren and Martin knew they wanted to get married, so when Martin’s family was in Florida visiting Lauren’s family, Martin took it as the perfect opportunity and proposed in the backyard. With rain softly coming down, he knelt down on one knee and Lauren followed him. The newly-engaged duo went inside to a house full of family and celebrated all weekend.
THE SETTING: Lauren and Martin were married at the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel Austin. The venue was the perfect location as they wanted something central for their out of town guests. The couple was amazed at the Four Season’s outside ceremony location and a big ballroom for the party, not to mention the amazing food.
HUES SHE USED: Lauren and her mom chose black, white and silver paired with Coral for the wedding’s decor. The wedding style was vintage glam meets art deco meets Jewish/Mexican. The color scheme and theme definitely said “Celebration!”
SPECIAL TRADITIONS: The couple incorporated both Jewish and Mexican traditions into their big day. They had a traditional Mariachi band, the breaking of the glass, the exchange of 13 coins and the Horah.
LIFE AFTER WEDDING: The newlyweds took a short honeymoon to New Orleans since Lauren was still in graduate school. It was a romantic and fun trip. The couple slept and ate for two days straight. The bride and groom currently reside in Austin where Lauren works as a filmmaker and Martin is a writer.
