Elyse Holiday and Jeffrey Cherewaty’s Modern Eclectic Austin Wedding
SWEET BEGINNINGS: Elyse and Jeffrey met after a tech industry event in August 2013. There was karaoke at the after party where Elyse heard someone singing “Nights in White Satin” by The Moody Blues. Elyse was completely impressed that someone her age knew of the band she grew up listening to. When Jeffrey exited the stage, Elyse rushed over to him, hugged him and said, “We’re going to be best friends!” How right she was.
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Jeffrey proposed to Elyse in a perfect, quiet way at home in January 2015. They made dinner, opened a nice bottle of wine and started a fire. After dinner as they were sitting on the couch, Jeffrey got down on one knee and said, “Love of my life, will you marry me?” Elyse will never forget that special moment.
HUES SHE USED: Inspired by Malverde at La Condesa beautiful décor, Elyse and Jeffrey wanted a wedding that was relaxing, welcoming and fun. They used hues of yellow, turquoise, coral, green and navy.
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT: Elyse’s most memorable moment was when she and Jeffrey read their vows to each other. They spent a long time crafting their vows to be truly personal, lasting promises. All of their guests were crying, and they felt so deeply connected to their families, friends and each other. Elyse will never forget that feeling of being surrounded by love.
VENDOR LOVE: Their coordinator, Mandy at Modern Whimsy Events, blew Elyse and Jeffrey away. She made the whole process easy for the couple. Not only did she help with any questions the two had, but she also came up with great ideas that Elyse and Jeffrey wouldn’t have. Everything turned out 10 times better than they expected!
WORDS OF WISDOM: Do what is important to you and ignore the rest. This is a milestone for you, your partner, your families and friends, so celebrate it and don’t get caught up in the details. Nobody remembers the details, but they do remember how it felt to be celebrating love.
