SWEET BEGINNINGS: Lauren and Jim swam for the University of Texas varsity team. They would eat lunch together in the athletic dining hall with their friends regularly. One day when Jim walked Lauren to calculus class, their love began to blossom!
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Since Jim knew Lauren didn’t want a big, dramatic proposal, surprising her became quite the challenge. One Tuesday morning, Jim popped the question and presented her with a beautiful diamond ring accompanied by a delicious breakfast he had made.
THE SETTING: Lauren and Jim knew they found the place for their special day once they visited Sacred Oaks at Camp Lucy. With details that magnified the natural beauty, timbered architecture that was simply stunning and majestic live oak trees that canopied the ceremony site, the couple’s special day transformed into a mystical experience. The venue encompassed everything they were looking for: naturally stunning outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour sites. It was spacious and well designed so it could accommodate their large guest count. The venue harmoniously embodied classic elegance while still providing an authentic hill country vibe.
SAVORY SWEETS: Simon Lee Bakery created Lauren and Jim’s incredible wedding cake that was adapted from Lauren’s all-time favorite Williams-Sonoma recipe. Cream cheese frosting was scalloped between three tiers and nine layers. The naked almond-scented white cake with raspberry preserves was topped with a golden laser cut sign that read, “And so the adventure begins.”
DELICIOUS DISHES: Chef Rob of Whim Catering catered a plated dinner for the guests. The meal included herb-grilled beef tenderloin, and green hatch chili and chorizo stuffed quail. The chef also specially prepared a portabello mushroom entrée for the vegan guests as well as a grilled red snapper filet.
VENDOR LOVE: Lauren and Jim agreed that Christina Carroll Photography was incredibly talented at capturing not only the composed scene, but also the emotional dimensionality. The way she worked with light amazed the couple.
