Christine Cordier and Michael Burton’s Tropical Kate Spade Inspired Austin Wedding at Horseshoe Bay Resort

THE PROPOSAL: Michael took Christine to Flat Creek Estate, the vineyard where they had their first real date. He had planned a whole day event where he would propose during a picnic on the vineyard grounds. The weekend came and so did the rains from a tropical storm. Michael still insisted on a picnic and popped the question in raincoats and a downpour.

THE SETTING: The couple’s lovely ceremony was held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, which is set on a hill in Horseshoe Bay overlooking Lake LBJ. The reception was held at the beautiful Horseshoe Bay Yacht Club. Christine’s family has been vacationing at Lake LBJ for 20 years and has been attending St. Paul’s since their first trip. The venue held many memories for the happy couple.

KATE SPADE INSPIRED: The style was greatly influenced by all that is Kate Spade! Preppy, clean lines, gorgeous pops of color and minimalism.

BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS: The lovely bouquet was naturally rounded and composed of white, ivory, coral and pink floral. The floral varieties were coral charm peonies, O’Hara garden roses, coral garden roses, alabaster garden roses, pink ranunculus, white lisianthus, white peonies, white scabiosa, gardenia foliage and mint. To top it off, the bouquet was wrapped in an ivory satin ribbon.

THE CAKE: Simon Lee Bakery created a tasty vanilla cake with strawberries in Grand Marnier cream. It had stacked ivory layers finished off with gold fondant stripes.

VENDOR LOVE: The Whitt Experience made everything go off without an issue, allowing Christine and Michael to have the perfect day!
