Chelsea Pierce and Bryan Caffey’s Rustic Greenery-Filled Austin Wedding Captured by The Bird & The Bear
May 4
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Chelsea was on tour with Diavolo – Architecture in Motion, a professional dance company, in Park City, Utah. After some tough shows in the high elevation, Chelsea had a couple of free days. Bryan met her so they could be together to celebrate the New Year! After a day of snowmobiling, they got dressed for an early dinner. On their way to dinner, Chelsea noticed a beautifully decorated holiday barn tucked behind barren winter trees on McPolin Farm. She was too excited to feel the car slow down and pull into the drive. Bryan assured the Uber driver that this was a perfect place to stop, and he’d take it from there. Like a chivalrous gentleman, Bryan guided Chelsea out of the car and toward the barn that looked like it was made for a postcard. Right when it hit her what was happening, Bryan paused in his tracks and got down on one knee. It was perfect, beautiful and breathtaking. Chelsea will remember those moments, the scene and the butterflies in her stomach forever.
SETTING THE SCENE: Canyonwood Ridge is a gorgeous, contemporary rustic space that provides a chapel, reception hall and beautiful lush outdoor property perched on top of the hill country. In the chapel, wide wooden beams frame the room, and floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light to flood the space. The venue overlooks what feels like all of Texas. It was absolutely perfect for Chelsea and Bryan’s big day.
THE CAKE: Chelsea’s wedding cake was a modern take on a classic design. Standing five tiers tall, it dazzled with a simple horizontal texture that played perfectly with the beautiful fresh flowers provided by Stems Floral Design and Productions, and the architectural splendor of Canyonwood Ridge. Guests enjoyed Chelsea and Bryan’s classic choice of wedding white cake and strawberry filling. In addition, the couple opted for bite-sized pies for guests to grab and enjoy on the dance floor! The pies, provided by Sweet Treets Bakery, were artisanal-crafted and baked in chocolate, key lime, apple and pecan flavors to ensure there was a delicious, bite-sized pie for all.
DELICIOUS DISHES: Pink Avocado Catering was incredible. They had three passed appetizers during cocktail hour, and the most tender steak and chicken dishes, alongside a roasted vegetable medley and garlic mashed potatoes.
