SWEET BEGINNINGS: Caitlin and John had mutual friends throughout college, but didn’t officially meet until January 2009 at a dance party with friends.
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Every year at Christmastime, Caitlin’s family outside of Philadelphia rents an ice skating rink. This is one of Caitlin’s most cherished family traditions. After about five years of dating, John accompanied Caitlin to her family’s skating party. While Caitlin’s aunt was snapping a picture of them, John pulled out a ring and proposed to Caitlin. After she said yes, celebration ensued!
BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS: Caitlin wanted lots of greenery in her bouquet, so Clementine Botanical Art put together a lovely bundle of Sahara roses, white majolica spray roses, camellia foliage, silver dollar eucalyptus foliage, white anemones, olive branches, white ranunculus and white stock.
VINTAGE GLAMOUR: When Caitlin and John started the planning process, they aimed for a glamorous vintage feel. Caitlin wanted an Old Hollywood-style dress and John wanted a tuxedo that would make him feel like James Bond. When their budget got a little tighter, they starting using different people’s contributions, which added unique elements.
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT: Caitlin and John agree that when their ceremony ended and they walked down the aisle as newlyweds, as the Arctic Monkeys’ version of “Baby I’m Yours” played and guests cheered, was the happiest moment ever. It would have been impossible not to smile!
SPECIAL TOUCHES: During the cocktail hour, Caitlin and John had burros carrying beer around, and the animals were a hit! Cute and sweet, the guests loved them. There were lots of areas to explore at the venue, and a friend of the couple’s played pedal steel music on one of the porches.
