THE LOVE STORY: Lauren and Jeffrey met when they were just 11 years old and spent the rest of middle school passing love notes. Through shared classes and a love of sports, their friendship effortlessly blossomed into a relationship in high school. Four years of long-distance dating when they were in college, a move across the Atlantic to Spain, a move back to the states, and a couple more months of long-distance dating finally led Lauren and Jeffrey both to Houston. After receiving her father’s blessing, Jeffrey simply got down on one knee at their home and asked Lauren to marry him. This personal and meaningful proposal was a perfect fit for the couple. A celebratory ice cream date followed Lauren’s joyful, “Yes!”
GET HER LOOK: The bride wore an ivory silk organza gown with crisp cap sleeves and intricate floral embroidery by Collette Dinnigan for BHLDN. It was everything she was looking for: simple and feminine, with a unique sense of modest beauty. Lauren wore her grandmother’s earrings from Panama made of vintage pearl from the 1930s. The earrings are traditional in Panamanian culture.
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT: Lauren and Jeffrey’s most memorable moment from their wedding day was exchanging vows. These significant words made the ceremony so much more extraordinary.
SPECIAL TRADITIONS: It was very important that Lauren’s grandmother, who is very traditional, offer a blessing over the reception dinner. It was evident how proud she is of her family and this was a special memory for the couple. Lauren’s father gave an eloquent and entertaining speech as well.
