What is boudoir photography?

Boudoir photography is an expression of intimacy. It is a collection of moments that capture the intimate underpinning of beauty within yourself and can also manifest as the passion between you and your partner. It is the private moments behind closed doors that are memorialized for you and your partner to cherish.

How should I prepare for a boudoir shoot?

I always send over a list of tips and tricks to help my clients prepare for their session. My clients also have full access to me leading up to their shoot so that we can not only get to know each other but I can answer any and all questions that may pop up. Boudoir is extremely intimate. When it comes to boudoir photography in Austin, it’s important to work with an artist that you truly feel connected to so that they can capture you in your best light. I always tell my clients ‘here is a list of tips and tricks, but it certainly is not homework.’ and I mean that. 90% of my clients (especially my brides and grooms who are busy planning weddings) roll out of bed and show up at my studio. I have been doing this for well over a decade. My team and I are over-prepared for any and all situations and while we will throw suggestions your way, you really can just show up. We will pamper you head to toe and provide everything you need for your experience.

What should I wear for a boudoir shoot?

I provide lingerie styling for each client! While you are certainly more than welcome to bring anything you would like, I do personalized shopping for every individual that comes through my doors so that you can show up empty-handed and leave the rest to me!

How can I get comfortable in such an intimate setting?

Nerves and intrusive thoughts are normal! I cannot stress enough if you aren’t feeling comfy with the photographer, keep looking! You will feel positive and calm in your body when you find the right fit. Trust is key during such an intimate experience, and I like to take time during every session to check in with my clients and ensure that they are 100% comfortable throughout their time in the studio.

Can I bring a friend or partner to the photoshoot?

While every photographer is different, I ask that the only people present are the ones being photographed. You may think that bringing a friend to a session will help provide you with some type of moral support, but it actually acts as a barrier to intimacy. The best photos are the most authentic, and we are most authentic when we are alone.

What does a boudoir session look like?

Hanging out with an old friend. Just read some of my reviews or follow me on social media to see what we’re up to in the studio! I promise things aren’t half as intimidating as they look online!

What do I need to bring to a boudoir session?

Just yourself! I cannot stress this enough: I have everything for you! While you are more than welcome to bring anything you’d like, it is absolutely not mandatory to do so.

Where does the photoshoot take place?

My studio on 22nd street in Austin, Texas! I own my space and have spent years cultivating the perfect shooting space. Every inch of the studio, that I use exclusively for photo sessions, is completely set up for your boudoir shoot. While my studio is steps away from fine dining and the buzz of the city, you would never know! We have a very tall privacy fence covered in vines so even the garden is prepared for creation!

What should I expect during the photoshoot?

From a physical standpoint, a session is similar to a gentle yoga session, but I am also more than happy to cater to any mobility issues. We start with hair and makeup where we get a chance to chat and get to know each other and get comfortable. Afterwards, the fun starts and we create magic!

Will my photos be kept private?

I take privacy extremely seriously! My print shop exclusively works with professionals to ensure that your images stay private. I take multiple precautions that I go over with each client to ensure total security and privacy.
