THE PROPOSAL: Laura and Jon met while attending Baylor University. After several years of dating, Jon decided to plan an incredibly special proposal. With the help of their beloved dog, Jon knelt down on one knee in Laura’s front yard and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. Laura said, “Yes!” and the newly engaged couple celebrated at Justine’s Brasserie, one of their favorite spots in Austin.
THE SETTING: Laura and Jon planned a fresh and romantic fall affair at Barr Mansion & Artisan Ballroom. On their big day in September, Laura Clack and Jon Whittaker said, “I do,” under the gorgeous pecan tree in front of the mansion with their closest friends and family as witnesses.
GET HER LOOK: Laura looked like a dream in her Modeca gown by Enzoani. Its rose gold hue and full train of tulle was a dazzling sight gliding down the aisle. The floral lace appliqué details were simply stunning, and her braided floral crown of baby’s breath was the perfect finishing touch to the striking dress.
WEDDING DETAILS: The evening was dressed in a natural tone of blush with accents of crisp white and gold, peachy florals and pops of crisp greens. The reception hall, a rustic gem in the Barr Mansion Dutch Barn, evoked a fresh, simplistic vibe with stunning displays of Juliet garden roses and succulents brightening each table. Unique vintage pieces were also incorporated into the celebration including silver goblets from the bride’s parents’ wedding.
LIFE AFTER THE WEDDING: After the breathtaking evening, Laura and Jon retreated to a honeymoon in sunny St. Thomas before returning to Austin where the bride works in retail operations and the groom is a mechanical engineer.
