Ballroom Austin Wedding Captured by Emilie Anne Photography | Meghan + Jared

SWEET BEGINNINGS: Meghan and Jared met at the Texas Hall of Fame where Aaron Watson was performing. Jared asked Meghan to dance to “Reckless” and she couldn’t say no! She was pretty nervous to do any two-stepping but happily agreed and the two danced the night away.

A PERFECT PROPOSAL: Jared arranged for a weekend trip for the couple to visit Meghan’s hometown of Austin with some good friends. Before they met their friends, they decided to go on a little adventure of their own. They went hiking near Lake Travis to watch the sunrise, went to get brunch at their favorite restaurant, walked down Guadalupe Street, and visited their favorite hangout spots. They met up with their friends at Barton Springs for a late afternoon picnic. Meghan was feeling nostalgic after such a great day but had no idea the romance was about to continue. As they were getting ready to leave, she saw her friends backing up with the biggest grin on their faces holding cameras. She turned to see Jared on one knee with the biggest smile on his face. She was so surprised and accidentally said, “Thank you,” instead of, “Yes.” Afterward, the newly engaged couple met up with their parents for a surprise engagement dinner.

WHIMSICAL ROMANCE: Meghan used hues of navy, blush, gold and white to accomplish the romantic feel. She loved the idea of twinkling lights around the dance floor, and some décor with unfinished and sweet touches.

MUST-HAVE MUSIC: DJ Davey from Altared Weddings provided a great mix of music to fit everyone’s style. There wasn’t a moment where the dance floor wasn’t full. He ended the night with “I Believe In a Thing Called Love” and it was perfect.
