SWEET BEGINNINGS: Abby and James met in law school in February 2009. They were in the same class and were friends for several years before they went on their first date.

PERFECT PROPOSAL: James proposed to Abby on vacation in Puerto Rico. However, this was no surprise to Abby because before they left, she accidentally found the engagement ring packed in a box of her scarves and mittens. Even though she knew it was coming, Abby was surprised how nervous and excitedly happy she was! After James popped the question, Abby fessed up and told James that she knew it was coming.

WEDDING DETAILS: Abby and James incorporated soft pinks and greys, rustic details such as wooden crates and mason jars, and soft touches of wildflowers.

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT: Aside from saying, “I do,” to James, Abby’s most memorable moment was walking down the aisle to “Amazing Grace,” which she picked because it was her grandma’s favorite song who had passed away the year prior. Abby loved honoring her on their special day.

SAVORY SWEETS: The cake was probably the best the bride had ever tasted. Love Birds Sweets made an amazing almond cake with raspberry filling. It was decorated with simple but delicious buttercream and flowers from Sweet Magnolia Flowers + Mercantile.

VENDOR LOVE: Abby and James had so many great vendors at their wedding, but the bride’s favorite vender to work with was Ally Richard of flAir Style Lounge who did her hair and makeup on the big day. Not only did Ally make the bride look and feel beautiful, along with the entire bridal party, but as Abby’s regular hair stylist, she listened to Abby’s endless discussions about the wedding and had great advice in the months leading up to the wedding.
