Austin Wedding Featuring Merveille Events Captured by Amber Kelley Photography | Renee + Tyler

SWEET BEGINNINGS: Renee and Tyler met during college at West Campus in Austin. They both lived in the same apartment complex and were introduced through mutual friends at a UT vs. UTEP football watch party at the pool. They shared an instant attraction and began a relationship soon after.

THE PROPOSAL: Renee and Tyler arrived in Austin one evening for a weekend trip and were on their way to meet Renee’s brother, Rob, and his wife, Taylor. As they pulled into the neighborhood, Taylor suggested that the group meet at the Zilker Park scenic overlook to check out the view. Unbeknownst to Renee, Tyler had provided Rob and Taylor with candles and vintage lanterns to arrange around the overlook earlier that day, and they were now hiding in the bushes to photograph the proposal. After meandering down the dark trail to the overlook, Renee was a little confused to see all the candles. She thought they’d stumbled upon someone else’s event. Tyler assured her that they had not and walked her to the edge of the overlook. He held both her hands as he expressed his love for her, then – against the backdrop of the illuminated Austin skyline – he knelt down on one knee and asked her to marry him.

SPECIAL DETAILS: Renee’s dad and brother hand-crafted a cedar wedding arbor for the ceremony. The newlyweds now have the arbor in their backyard. It is a daily reminder of the day they became husband and wife.

BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS: Merveille Floral & Design Atelier created a naturally gathered bouquet of pink peonies, lavender Lisianthus, pink ranunculus and blush stock accented by ivory Astilbe and yellow freesia in blooms of medium pinks, blush, lavender and yellow with complimenting greenery, all wrapped in an ivory satin ribbon.
