A Cultured Austin Couple’s Summer Sunset Inspired Wedding

Austin couple, Ashleigh and Ben, met about five years ago in the way of this day and age – they both swiped right on Tinder! After they matched, the two had their first date on the opening night of Ben’s new restaurant and the rest was history. After a welcome party on Friday, the couple’s wedding weekend started off when all of the bridesmaids came back to a suite at The LINE Hotel Austin for a slumber party and other out-of-town guests enjoyed accommodations at Fairmont Austin. The next morning, the bridal party started their day with breakfast and began the getting-ready process. In Ashleigh and Ben’s romantic summer sunset inspired wedding, shades of pink, orange, and white blend beautifully in the form of altar blooms, citrusy centerpieces, and of course the bride’s beautiful bouquet. Loot Rentals created a dreamy lounge setup for cocktail hour while Marquee Event Rentals brought the linens, flatware, and other tablescape details that elevated reception dining yet another notch before Royal Fig Catering brought in food that would blow guests away!

Ben is Mexican and he and Ashleigh are both also Jewish, so the couple chose to incorporate both aspects into the wedding day. During their welcome party, they had a mariachi band play, and just before the wedding ceremony, they had the signing of the Ketubah with all close family members in attendance. During the ceremony, the two were married by their rabbi under the Chuppah and they finished off the night doing the Hora, a traditional dance performed at Jewish weddings where the newlyweds are lifted into the air while their family and friends dance in circles around them! During the hora where Plush Party Band made sure the tunes were just right, the couple each holds one end of a handkerchief or napkin to signify their union. The band played and everyone dance the night away, finishing the evening out with favors including Topo Chico, mini Yellowbird hot sauce, mini Tito’s, mini Tajin and cookies featuring a  watercolor portrait of their dog. We couldn’t have planned a prettier or more Austin-centric affair ourselves! Read on for a note from the bride about her favorite vendor from this sunset inspired wedding and what made them so great. Cheers to the new Mr. and Mrs. Farias!

From the bride on her favorite wedding vendor: “Plush Party Band was amazing to work with – very accommodating and responsive. She was happy to help with any and all aspects of the wedding, even things that had nothing to do with the music selections!’
