SWEET BEGINNINGS: Lauren and John met the summer before their freshman year of college at a rush party. After striking up a conversation, they learned they had a lot in common. Lauren and John became close friends during their freshman year and when he saw Lauren as “the queen” of a debutante ball, John just couldn’t stay away. After the ball, John told his mom, “I think I’m going to ask Lauren Pearce on a date.” They went on their first date that week and have been together ever since!
PERFECT PROPOSAL: John proposed to Lauren at the Texas State Capitol on a wintry day in December. John works at the Capitol so he tricked Lauren into going there by saying he had a work Christmas party. When they arrived at the Capitol, John asked Lauren if she would like to open her Christmas present. Inside the bag, Lauren found a photo book John made. It was filled with pictures of their relationship and throughout the book he wrote things he loved and appreciated about their relationship and Lauren. After they read the book together, John got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. He had a photographer hiding to capture the whole thing. After Lauren said, “yes”, she and John headed back to Lauren’s parent’s house where all of their best friends and family were waiting to celebrate with them.
HUES SHE USED: The bride knew she wanted a vibrant color scheme. When she went shopping at Bella Bridesmaids, she found bridesmaids dresses in a beautiful raspberry color that she absolutely loved. She used this hue to inspire many aspects of her wedding décor.
SPECIAL TRADITIONS: For her “something old,” the bride wore her late grandmother’s ring. Lauren’s “something new” was her stunning wedding gown, and for her “something borrowed,” she wore earrings from The Menagerie. She carried a handkerchief wrapped around the bouquet stitched with the couple’s wedding date for her “something blue.” Lauren and John also lit a unity candle and had a reading of 1 Corinthians 13, just like Lauren’s parents did on their wedding day.
