SWEET BEGINNINGS: Margaret and D.B.’s relationship has a very special connection with Carrizo Springs, a small town in south Texas, and Baylor University. D.B.’s mom was Margaret’s Sunday School teacher when she moved to Carrizo Springs in high school. As Margaret prepared to attend Baylor, D.B., then a senior, met with her to discuss college life in Waco. After Margaret began school at Baylor, she and D.B. would frequently run into each other on campus and always enjoyed catching up. By Margaret’s sophomore year, D.B. gathered up the courage to ask her out on a date at Common Grounds, a popular Baylor coffee spot, and the rest was history!
PERFECT PROPOSAL: Because the couple has such great memories together from their years in Waco, D.B. proposed to Margaret on the Baylor campus in front of Pat Neff Hall.
GET HER LOOK: Margaret wore an ivory silk radzimir gown with architectural seaming, and added a pearl and crystal beaded satin belt by Watters. Her veil was cathedral-length and included a detachable blusher that could be worn back during the reception.
BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS: The bride’s bouquet was a textured, semi-loose clutch of soft green eucalyptus, ivory roses, peonies, gardenias, white ranunculus, sage leaves, white sweet peas and hints of gray dusty miller. Orange blossoms were also added in memory of Margaret’s late grandmother who married her grandfather in a church decorated with orange blooms.
REFINED GARDEN: The bride described her wedding look as “refined garden.” She loves textured florals that are often seen in outdoor garden weddings, and wanted to bring this look into a traditional church and ballroom setting. Abby Daigle and her team at STEMS Floral Design and Productions did a beautiful job bringing her vision to life.
