Rustic Austin Wedding at Pecan Springs Ranch | Krissy + Drew

SWEET BEGINNINGS: Krissy and Drew met at a bar in Chicago’s Lincoln Park. Krissy had just graduated from college and Drew had recently moved to Chicago from Texas to take his first job out of college. He actually lived one block away from where Krissy worked, but they had never crossed paths.

PERFECT PROPOSAL: A few days before leaving Austin for the holidays, Drew made a reservation for a nice dinner. The couple valeted the car and walked to the restaurant, and before Krissy knew it, Drew was down on one knee proposing! She happily said yes as a photographer captured the special moment. Drew’s parents then walked outside and they spent the rest of the evening celebrating.

THE SETTING: Pecan Springs Ranch was the perfect venue for the couple’s wedding because it didn’t need anything to make it look gorgeous; the natural beauty of the landscape and buildings were more than enough.

RUSTIC GLAM: Krissy based the style of her wedding off her dining room table and chandelier. The table is made of rustic wood, and the chandelier is made of mason jars and sparkling crystals. An arrangement of blush pink peonies sits atop the table, which inspired all of the wedding’s florals.

SPECIAL TRADITIONS: Drew’s aunt made Krissy a box containing an embroidered handkerchief and his grandmother’s rosary. This has been a tradition in his family for years, and Krissy thought it was so sweet to be welcomed into his family with such thoughtfulness and open arms.

DELICIOUS DISHES: Krissy and Drew are self-described “foodies,” so the reception dinner was extremely important to them. Pink Avocado Catering provided a delicious assortment of the couple’s favorite foods for the passed appetizers and the main course. They even used one of Drew’s recipes for a special side dish!
